Historically, zines have represented subcultures, a cultural group within a broader, larger culture. However, zines were born out of the larger culture not representing the views of those who identify themselves within the subculture, perhaps being in a minority. The power of a small publication allows for freedom of expression, an unrestricted place, to just be.

Through this publication, where one author is a tenant of a housing estate and the other being an outsider with an avid interest in the politics of the housing estate, our collaboration allows us to represent our own views as part of this estate subculture, hopefully also some of which represents those who live in estates across the UK.
